Angel's Announce

December 21, 2018

He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy, He the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.-St. Augustine of Hippo

Christmas Message from Mr. Steffens

Families, Students, Faculty and Staff:

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and happy New Year. The first few months of school have been very busy with lots of amazing things going on! TOGETHER we have completed or near completion:

Holy Child Chapel

Math Lab

Science Lab

Saints (painting starting soon)

Beatitudes in the foyer

Robotics program

3d printing

Expanded sports program

Revamped website

Overhaul of Angel’s Announce, Sebastian Periodical, and Gabriel’s Gazette

Clubs and Activities

Revamping student garden prepping for the spring

Increased recycling within the school

Restorative Justice training for faculty and staff

Prayers-will increase in the new year

Swag gear (clothing gear coming soon!)

This is what was just accomplished in the first semester. Imagine what we can accomplish in the new year when we work together! I foresee great things at Santo Nino and no, we may not always agree, but when we all remember that this is for the students, we can work together to accomplish great things in Christ’s name!

I personally thank the overwhelming support that I have received over the last few months. I especially really enjoy the smiles and fist bumps at drop-off and pickup. The JOY I see everyday with the students brings additional joy to my heart! I am enjoying Santa Fe and in particular the food culture! The chili!! I am little disappointed that we haven’t had more snow days though!

My hopes and prayers for you for Christmas and the New Year is filled with Joy and the love of Christ. There is no greater love that His. As we move into the Christmas season, a time of remembrance of when God became man, the Incarnation, let us all remember that everything we do reflects upon our love of Christ.

I end this Christmas message with a beautiful quote from St. John Chrysostom:

Behold on Christmas a new and wondrous reality. The angels sing and the archangels blend their voices in harmony. The Cherubim hymn their joyful praise. The Seraphim exalt Christ’s glory. All join to praise this holy feast, beholding the Godhead here on earth and man in heaven. He Who is above now for our redemption dwells here below, and we who are lowly are by divine mercy raised up. Bethlehem this day resembles heaven, hearing from the stars the singing of angelic voices. Ask not how. For where God wills, nature yields. For He willed. He had the power. He descended. He redeemed. All things move in obedience to God. This day He Who is born and He Who is becomes what He is not. He is God become man, yet not departing from His Godhead.
