In 1961 Africans Americans was first allowed to attend the University of Georgia . The first 2 people to attend the University was Hamilton Holmes & Charlayne Hunter . They Both were tortured and harassed by 1963 they both earned their degree and they both went on successful.

1961 Albany Movement
Dr. King helped to organize a large movement to end segregation in the south Georgia Albany in addition to marches and boycotts and protesters helped African Americans vote and Dr. king overcrowding jails caused the police to put activists in neighboring county jails.
1960 Sibley Commision
Many school districts in Georgia threatened to close their schools. If they were forced to desegregate and the Sibley was plan by the Georgia government to decide Georgia's counties should integrate their schools. then the federal threatened to cut off founding to Georgia schools because the state was very slow in outlawing segregation .
