Dear JPS Families,

Wishing all those special women in someone's life a happy Mother's Day. We hope you enjoyed this beautiful weekend weather wise!

A big thank you to Mrs. Currie for volunteering to do the pansy pick-up on Friday evening at JPS! Your time was super appreciated. Thank you to all of our families who came to say hi and pick them up!

We will be recognizing our amazing educators and support staff this week! A huge thank you for all that they do for their colleagues, families, and students at JPS - it would not be the same place without them!

This week, we welocomed LDSB literacy tutor, Mara who worked with some of our Kinder to Grade 2 students and LDSB math tutor, Teigan, who worked with some of our Grade 7-8 students in math. Parents were already informed if their student is receiving additional tutoring.

Mrs. Lalonde (Assistive Technology Resource Teacher with LDSB) was in on Friday to work with our Grade 3 and Grade 6 educators and students to get ready for EQAO. They had already practiced the online EQAO sample assessment, so they learned some more skills on their computers. A general letter was sent home to Grade 3 and 6 families. Students who have IEPs will be receiving EQAO accommodations letters this week! Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher or Mrs. Paquin or Ms. Stephen if you have questions.

Looking forward to a great week!

School Day at JPS!

Families can sign up for School-Day: Permissions & Payments!

Limestone is excited to offer our families a new secure portal to complete permissions and payments online. With School-Day: Permissions & Payments, you will be able to complete permission forms and payments from any web browser using your SmartPhone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

Through this new online portal, you will be able to pay for items such as:

· Field trips

· Sporting events

· Student cards/athletic fees

· Hot lunch (where applicable)

The new easy-to-use portal will remove the risks associated with sending money to school with students, the frustration of lost or missing permission forms, and significantly reduce the amount of paper our school consumes.

Look for the School-Day Introduction Letter coming home with your child. Use the instructions in it to sign up for a School-Day account at www.school-day.com and connect to your child’s events and activities.

With your support, we look forward to a successful implementation of this practical application!

Kindergarten Registration is now open

KE 30 SECOND 2021 UPDATE 1920 x 1080

Welcome to Kindergarten at Joyceville Public School This is an exciting time for both you and your student. Kindergarten is a two-year, full-day program that helps children get the best possible start in school. Your student will be challenged and encouraged to do their very best. Our caring team of educators is with them every step of the way!

Kindergarten programs in Ontario offer a full day of learning for four- and five-year-olds. At Joyceville P.S., our Kindergarten program aims to nurture the whole child. In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator work together as a team. This partnership helps to create a nurturing learning environment; giving every student the opportunity to learn in the way that is best suited to their individual strengths and needs.

If your student is four or five by the end of the year, now is the time to register for September 2022. your student here

You can feel confident your student will be cared for within safe and inclusive environments. We want everyone to see themselves in Limestone. We typically welcome new families to Kindergarten orientation events in May of each year. We will share more about these opportunities and when families can visit the school with their student soon.

Starting Kindergarten is an exciting time for everyone, and here at Joyceville P.S. we are ready to welcome your student to a wonderful new world of learning and growing.

Thank you for choosing Joyceville Public School. We look forward to meeting you.
