Interim Rerports

Thank you for taking the time to meet with us for conferences today. We love checking in with our EJA families to ensure our students have a successful year! Remember, you can always contact a teacher when you have questions or concerns. Please check your emails next week for a copy of the interim reports. Remember, the purpose of interim reports is to let you know how your child is progressing during the quarter so far. They still have time to get caught up and turn in any missing assignments before the quarter ends on January 11th.

Covid Testing

Covid testing will NOT be required after Thanksgiving Break. If anything changes, we will let you know. We do ask, however, that you monitor your children for symptoms, especially if you have traveled to another state and/or traveled using mass transit. It’s a good idea to do a Covid Test just to be safe before returning to school. If you need a test kit, please let us know today so that we can send one home for you.

Afterschool Zone Presents: Public Safety Month

We appreciate you working with us on Tuesday for the late dismissal. Unfortunately, the fire department had to cancel our fire safety program due to the weather. However, we look forward to scheduling another program in the future. The students were able to do a few activities to prepare for our next Fire Safety Day. Don't forget, we still have one more public safety program happening on Tuesday, November 28th. Please see the information below.

DARE Program with Petersburg Police (Afterschool)

We will have some visitors from the police department to give a special presentation. This event will take place afterschool. DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The goal of this program is to teach students to "respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance use, and other dangerous behaviors." Please sign up using the google form below or click here.

Pre-Paid Lunch Cards

Great news! After Thanksgiving Break, students will be able to purchase lunch cards to pay for their hot lunch. This will be our only pre-paid option, but we will still accept daily payments as well. Lunch cards will be for $15 and $30. You may pay for the cards through cards or CashApp the school.

Fruit Fundraiser Extended

Spread the word!! We have decided to keep our fruit fundraiser open for another month to give everyone the opportunity to benefit from the fresh and yummy fruit for the holiday season! This will be for online orders only. The fruit will be shipped directly to the customer's home. Order online using our direct website: The new deadline is December 11th!

Please Help: Send Reusable Water Bottles to School

Parents, our water bottle supply is running low! Please help us by sending your child to school with a reusable water bottle. While our drinking fountain is not in use due to Covid precautions, our refillable water bottle station is fully functioning with a clean filter! Students who forget their own water bottle may purchase a plastic one from the office for a small fee, but we are limiting the amount that we can give out each day. Thank you for your help with this!

STEM Fair Projects

The first due date of the STEM Fair Project is fast approaching! Students need to give their topic, question, and hypothesis to their teacher by Friday, December 2nd. All students in 3rd-8th grades are required to complete a STEM Fair Project. 1st-2nd graders will do a group project in class. Away in a Manger Christmas Program-December 10th

Save the date!! EJA will be presenting a Christmas Program entitled Away in a Manger at the Ephesus SDA Church on December 10th. There will be singing, acting, narration, and more! All of our students will be participating, so please plan to attend and invite your family and friends.

Students have all been assigned their part for the play. Check your emails for the final cast list. Students who have speaking parts have already been given their scripts so they can start memorizing their parts and be prepared for the big day!

We have added a complete list of songs that we will be singing below so that the students can practice and be familiar with them at home:

  1. Go Tell It on the Mountain:

  2. Mary Did You Know: (rehearsal version)

  3. Silent Night:

  4. Hark the Herald:

  5. Angels We Have Heard on High:

  6. Joy to the World:

Nursing students from the Bon Secours College of Nursing spent some time with our students yesterday. As part of their student practicum, they taught the students about healthy eating and nutrition.
