Staying in the Know...

SIP Day - 1. Teachers will meet in grade level meetings (or department such as special education) and determine what resources they would like to purchase with their remaining building money. Please keep in mind that there will be a reduction to the building budget next year, so you may want to think about common core resources you'd like to use next year. Also, teachers should discuss as a grade level what consumable materials they would and would not like for next year. (math, reading, motivational math/reading)
2. Teachers need to complete their parent benchmarking communication letters. These should go home in Friday folders on Feb. 8th.

PLC Meeting - Prepare for Data Day. Review data. What students are meeting expectations? What students still need interventions? What changes do you need to make to your whole class instruction? Data Day will be January 29th. (District Goal 1, Student Achievement)

Problem Solving - Any student you may be considering for retention must be referred to problem solving by the end of January. Please let Nicole know the names of students you are considering for retention. (District Goal 1, Student Achievement; District Goal 4, Home/School Communication)

Web Articles Needed - Get the word out! What great things are going on in your classroom? Be sure to take pictures and get an article posted. Need help? Ask me or Tanya. (District Goal 4, Home/School Communication)

Network Outage - There will be a long power outage at West beginning Sunday night and moving into early Tuesday morning to get the generator up and running. (Tech crew will be here at 6:30 to get the ball rolling again.) This outage will cut off all West computers from the network including access to X drives, printers and the Internet. Please plan accordingly if you are planning to work at school over the long weekend.

Rooms over Lunch - Cathy is going to being wiping desks, chair backs, door knobs, and sink fixtures during lunch/recess on Mondays and Thursdays. Please have your children remove everything from the top of their desks on these days before leaving for lunch/recess.
