TMHS Wildcat Choir
February 22-February 26
Greetings Wildcat Choir Family:
We hope that all of you are safe and warm without too much damage to your homes after the winter storm and challenges it presented in the past week. This edition of the choir newsletter is EXTREMELY important as it outlines some very important schedule changes and updates due to the damages at TMHS and our need to conduct classes remotely for an undetermined (but hopefully SHORT) amount of time.
Virtual Students will continue to follow their assignments in Schoology as usual.
Students who are currently enrolled in face to face instruction will be expected to work diligently to complete assigned work in Schoology on asynchronous learning days, and to sign in, ready to work on synchronous learning days. Practice tracks for music are available in the digital binder and should be utilized. This week, on Friday, students will submit a recording in Schoology of their solo, or a section of their UIL music, depending on their class period. In addition, we will use Sight-reading Factory for a weekly, graded sight-reading assessment. This assignment will be visible each Monday in Sight-reading Factory, and will be due by Thursday at 11:30PM.
Along with this, face to face students will have some afternoon and Saturday rehearsals to come together as an ensemble - our UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation is fast approaching, and extra in- person practice time will be necessary. Our band and orchestra colleagues will be utilizing the same approach in their programs as well. Please do your best to be at all scheduled rehearsals for your team- we want our organization to be well represented at performances and contests, and it takes all members of the group to do so. Please look over the rehearsal calendar below, and make us aware of any conflicts prior to scheduled rehearsals-we want to be sensitive to the needs of your families during this difficult season. All conflicts should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org in advance.
We will be using NORTHPOINTE INTERMEDIATE as our after school rehearsal space, and WILLOW WOOD JUNIOR HIGH as our Saturday rehearsal space. Please refer to the calendar below for all upcoming rehearsals.
While these times are...dare I use the word... unprecedented, we can and WILL prevail if all choir students remember the importance of their voice, their contribution to the team, and do their part. Music has so much to offer our students and the community amidst the challenges we all face. Please make sure to read the newsletter in its entirety, so as not to miss any important details! Onward and upward!!!
Take care, and stay safe!
Jed Ragsdale and Kimberly Dillow

Senior Class of 2021
Each year, our fabulous booster club puts together a beautiful memory book for the senior class. All choir seniors need to find a baby and senior picture, and compose a short senior story that includes how choir has impacted your life, thank you's, and your plans for after graduation (college, work force, etc)
Please send your senior story and pictures to email@example.com by March 31.
Choir students interested in applying for a senior scholarship should complete the application (click below). Please make sure to carefully read the specific criteria provided in the application, and submit your application and essay by the firm deadline of March 31. All applications/essays will be reviewed by the booster club scholarship committee and will be announced during the senior recognition portion of the spring concert!
Please email all required paperwork for the Senior Scholarship to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before March 31 at 3:00PM. Late applications will not be considered!
