Grade Cards & Parent/Teacher Conferences
Over the past few years Columbia Public Schools has been working towards transitioning to Standard Referenced Learning and Grading. This means grade markings look a little different from the past. Below you will find information about Standard Referenced Learning and what the elementary grade card will look like this year. Additional resources are linked from the district website under the Curriculum & Instruction Department.
The ARTS
Hello LSE Families!
It’s been a busy and amazing Fall so far. Last Wednesday’s Parade and Fall Festival was an exciting day of learning and adventure thanks to our awesome Partners in Education, Marching Mizzou, and our wonderful LSE families! Thank you so much for your help with costumes and to those of you who were able to cheer us on during the parade. It was an impactful and inspiring experience for all!
You may have noticed the 4th grade Ozians in the parade, who have been working very hard on an arts integrated literacy unit focusing on a Wizard of Oz Readers Theater. Students are incorporating experimental sound effects, costume design, theatrical blocking, script reading and voice projection. We began filming their scenes this week. It has been so exciting to see the culmination of their efforts.
