CLEVELAND SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FOR UPDATES & REMINDERS
Week of February 5, 2024
A note from the Head of School
Dear CSA Family and Friends,
Welcome to a new week at CSA. We are in the "busy" season at CSA. School attendance each day is crucial to the continued success of your scholar(s). Teachers and scholars are preparing for State Testing season, our major spring shows and performances, as well as end of the year events like prom and graduation. You may receive a phone call from our automated attendance system. These phone calls are to inform you if/when your child is late to school or to class. Continue to call the school when receiving the calls to confirm and Let's work together to keep all scholars on track.
There will be no school for scholars on Friday, February 16th or Monday, February 19th.
Thank you nearly 300 families and friends who attended CSA's annual Lantern Festival last week to celebrate the Chinese New Year. More than 300 lanterns and light displays were created by CSA's visual arts students. You will find photos from the event below.
For Seniors Families: Senior Students will be honored on February 15 from 9:00 am - 11:45 am at CSA in the Media Center. All families and students should plan to attend.

Schoology parent access: It is highly encouraged that families use their parent access codes to review their scholar's classroom grades and performance. By using your Schoology parent access, you will be able to see your scholar's current grade, assignments completed, and assignments missed. This is a great tool for keeping up with your scholar's progress in class. Reach out to your scholar's teacher(s) if you have questions. Click to log in. Your scholar's teacher can provide the access code if you do not already have it. You need to have updated contact credentials in the Student Information System (SIS) to be able to be provided with your Schoology Parent account. Contact the school's main office to update your contact information.
If you have recently moved or changed contact information, please update the school with your new address by using the link below or calling the school main office at 216-838-9000

For more details, visit www.womengotgame.org where RSVP is now available.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to dive into meaningful conversations, build valuable connections, and partake in exciting esports competitions. We're confident that Women Got Game Summit 2024 will be a transformative and educational experience for all involved.
We are currently off track of our yearly attendance goal at 91%. Students who attend school consistently have a great chance of doing well in class. Please ensure your scholar attends school daily. Our chronic absenteeism rate is slowly rising. We have hit our goal (25%) and wish to stay lower than this rate. Families can help by making sure your scholar is coming to school on time each day.
