Holiday Assistance Program
2020 has been more challenging than we ever imagined. We know that many families are experiencing changes and uncertainty as we approach the holiday season. MVMS is still committed to helping families in our community who may need some additional support this year. If you are able to donate a gift card this season, please drop it off at the front desk or mail it in. Your generosity is appreciated.
Mesa Verde Book Club
Hey Eagles! We are starting a Book Club and would love to have you join us! Ms. Furtado and Mrs. Huppert will zoom with students on the following Mondays: 11/30, 1/11, 2/1, and 2/22 from 3:30-4:00 p.m. We will read and discuss Count Me In by Varsha Bajaj. An uplifting story, told through the alternating voices of two middle-schoolers, in which a community rallies to reject racism.
Please consider purchasing your book in hardcover and then donating it to the school library. This will enable us to have it available for years to come. Hardcover ISBN-13 : 978-0525517245
Reopening Plan Update
Did You Know...
Did you know your generous donation to the Foundation may easily be DOUBLED?! Many companies in our community have programs that match employee donations to qualified charitable organizations, such as the Mesa Verde Foundation. Please check with your HR department, or use this link to see if your company offers matching. Doubling your gift can be as easy as making a phone call or sending an email to your company! If you have any questions or need assistance regarding corporate matching, please contact our treasurer, Carolyn Russell at mvmsfoundationtreasurer@gmail.com.
Please consider donating to the MVMS Foundation for our Annual Fall Pledge Drive to support these and so many other incredible programs. Donations can be made online at https://mvmsfoundation.org/pledgedrive.html. We rely on our parent community to make this school everything it can be for our students.
Thank you for your support!

The SOAR
The S.O.A.R. is a new addition to our Eagle Newsletter! S.O.A.R. stands for Supporting Our Amazing and Resilient Students. The purpose of the S.O.A.R. is to provide students and families with ways to connect about their social and emotional health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We know this is a challenging time for all of our families and also know that working on growth mindset, self-reflection, mindfulness, wellness, kindness and gratitude builds our resiliency skills. The S.O.A.R. focuses on one of those key terms each week with a brief video and includes handouts you can work on together. This week is our second edition but, if you missed the first one you can find the link on the bottom of this edition. We hope you find it useful! Let's soar Eagles!
