NEWS FROM GUIDANCE
The CB College Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 6:30pm at CB South (1100 Folly Road, Warrington). Representatives from over 150 colleges, universities, and trade schools will be in attendance. Get information about majors, study abroad, athletics, extracurricular activities, dorm life, and scholarships/financial aid. All Juniors are highly encouraged to attend.
AP Exam registration will begin on Monday, February 13th. All students who are enrolled in an AP class this year will receive an AP Information Letter and Information Booklet in Advisory by this Friday, February 9th. The letter will provide all necessary AP exam information, including dates, cost, and registration instructions through My Payments Plus. Registration closes on March 17th.
Program Planning – Sophomore and Junior counselors have started meeting with individual students to review their course selections for the 17-18 school year. Counselors will review credit requirements, prerequisites, and answer all students’ questions about their course programming. These meetings will take place through approximately March 6th.
Scholarships for Seniors – All scholarships and awards are posted in Naviance, and the list is updated daily. Under the Colleges Tab, click “Scholarship List.” If you click on the name of the scholarship, you will see a detailed description of the award, as well as a link to the application or to a website. Please follow all directions for submission of applications, and be sure to meet all published deadlines! Be in touch with your counselor regarding materials you may need (transcripts, letters of recommendation). Also, visit the Scholarship Information page of the Guidance Website to find reliable Scholarship Search Engines, like Fast Web or Big Future. Set up a free account, answer the demographic questions, and obtain a list of scholarships that you might be eligible for.
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2017
Balfour Orders:
Senior Graduation Packets from Balfour were distributed in Advisory on Friday, January 6. This packet contains information about the following: Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Pennant Purchase (Required for Walking at Graduation); Graduation Announcements; and Class Ring. Balfour representatives were at our school on 1/26 and 1/27. If you missed the opportunity to order in person, please mail completed information and payment to Balfour Company, P.O. Box G, Dallas, PA 18612. Credit card payments or checks made out to "Balfour Company" are acceptable. No cash. Please include the $10 late fee if ordering after February 3rd.
Questions about these orders can be directed to Balfour at 570.696.5236. If your student has not received a graduation packet, please reach out to his advisor or the main office.

District Logo Contest
The district is redesigning our logo and website for a fresh, contemporary look and feel. We are holding a logo design contest open to all Central Bucks students, K-12. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship.

CB WEST SPRING MUSICAL
GOOD NEWS ABOUT CB WEST STUDENTS
MUSIC STUDENTS EARN RECOGNITION
Congratulations to the CB West band and orchestra students who earned seats in the prestigious PMEA District 11 honors ensembles. These groups are comprised of the best musicians in all schools across Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Four students placed in the District 11 Band: Daniel Bolton, Evan Bunce, William Fredendall, and Eva Martinez. Daniel Bolton, William Fredendall, and Eddie Kim earned spots in the District 11 Orchestra. At the District Orchestra re-audition, William Fredendall scored high enough to earn a seat in the Region 6 Orchestra, an even more prestigious group comprised of the strongest musicians from Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, and Chester County schools. Re-auditions for Region 6 Band and the PMEA All-State Bands and Orchestra will occur in February and March.
A number of CB West musicians will participate in the BCMEA Band and Orchestra, an honors group comprised of high school musicians from schools in Bucks County. Students who will participate in the BCMEA festival in March are Will Fredendall, Eva Martinez, Melody Chen, Stephen Bolton, Matthew Oriente, Max Du, Rachel Huang, Drew Insley, Daniel Bristow, Louis Weimer, Thomas Callum, Evan Bunce, Patrick Meeks, Audrey Przybylski, Eunice Woo, Joshua Kohut, Caleb Woo, Zachary Christidhis, Walker Andersen, and Marissa Klein.
Of particular note is Eva Martinez who is recognized as the first student in CB West history to earn a spot in the All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Eva is one of only 4 alto voices in entire state of Pennsylvania to be chosen for this group.
Congratulations to all of our talented musicians who earned spots in these prestigious groups!
STUDENTS VISIT CAPITOL HILL
Several students from West went to Washington D.C. and participated in a social action conference where they got to present an issue they were passionate about to senators on Capitol Hill.

Autism Cares Foundation Volunteer Of The Month- Camryn Albrecht
Camryn Albrecht has been selected as the February Volunteer of the Month by the Austism Cares Foundation. For the past three years, Camryn has volunteered with the Foundation and been part of FitLife, which is a weekly exercise program where she is a buddy to a young adult. She has also volunteered at other events such as social dances and Race For Resources.
West Chamber Choir
West Chamber Choir performed at Princeton on Sunday, February 5th. They sang during a service at the Princeton University Chapel, had an "arch sing", and visited the Princeton University Art Museum.
