6th grade
Our week began with finishing the integers projects. On Tuesday students took the AimsWeb computation test and then students shared their projects with the class. Wednesday we spent the class time listening to presentations and having a gallery walk of the brochures and posters. The last two days of the week were spent on fractions. Thursday and Friday we reviewed adding fractions and finding a common denominator. Students were able to use fraction tiles to model addition and find equivalent fractions.
The quiz has been moved to Wednesday next week.
8th Grade
We began the week with simplifying square roots. This took Monday and Tuesday's classes. On wednesday with our double period we reviewed simplifying square roots and then talked about combining square roots with addition and subtraction. We also used the distributive property to simplify radical expressions. Thursday and Friday were spent solving radical equations.
There will be review on Monday followed by a quiz on Tuesday. The quiz will be on 3.8 and 11.1-11.3.
