Harmony Giving Day Tuesday, November 28th
Dear Parent Guardian,
At Harmony Public Schools we are a family and we want to empower our Harmony alumni. Many of our graduates come from underrepresented communities and seek life-changing opportunities through higher education. In 2016, 59% of our graduates were from under-served, economically-deprived communities.
Despite their excellent academic preparation and their initial acceptance into the University of their Choice; an unacceptable number of Harmony students are not completing their college education programs due to the lack of financial support.
Thanks to the success and exponential growth of Harmony; 5,033 students have graduated so far and 11,686 are projected to be our total number of graduates in 2020. One day, your child will also be a member of Harmony Alumni Network and will benefit from many meaningful services and opportunities to support his or her academic, career and social/emotional needs in college. Our current funding sources are unable to meet the demands of these programs and students. As a result, we’re raising money to provide scholarships for our alumni who are in financial need; so that they can successfully complete their college education.
In support of these students, we’ve established the Harmony College Fund (HCF) which provides financial, academic and emotional support to all graduates through scholarships, mentoring, internship programs and other services.
Harmony Public Schools set a goal to raise $ 50,000 for the 1st Annual Harmony Giving Day campaign during National Giving Tuesday on November 28th, 2017. We truly value the partnership we built with our parents. You are more than just as a parent but a valued partner in our student’s education. You too can make our students college and career dreams come true!
We are asking you to contribute to Harmony College Fund to help us reach our goal. Not only will your gift help us raise funds to provide meaningful programs and services for our low-income students, but it will transform lives of many. Please join us in supporting our efforts to make the dreams of Harmony college students’ become reality.
Donations can be made online at alumni.harmonytx.org on November 28th or you can write donation check payable to “Harmony Public Schools – Harmony College Fund” and leave it at your child’s campus to district college and career coordinator attention or mailed to HPS central office to the attention of Berkan Kaya at College and Career Success Office.
I look forward to your support in our efforts. If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
Note: All your contributions are tax-deductible. HPS Tax ID # is 76-0615245
