Barry Tiemann, Principal

Mrs. Overfield and Mrs. Hickoff, Secretaries

From the Desk of Mr. Tiemann

I would first like to take this opportunity to THANK all of the State Road students, parents, teachers, and staff who were able to attend the annual State Road Elementary Open House and Ice Cream Social on August 30! What an awesome opportunity to reunite with friends and build the excitement of returning to State Road for another great learning year! I am extremely honored to be your principal, and I am full of anticipation and excitement to be a part of all the fantastic things that will take place here throughout the year.

I would also like to WELCOME all of our new families and students into our school; and WELCOME BACK those who already call State Road your home! As we begin to meet our new students, our hopes and commitments for success are renewed as we grow to care deeply for each one. The reason you see so many smiles around here is because of you—each one of you.

Dear State Road Families,

Fenton High School’s homecoming football game is Friday, October 7. State Road will be participating in the Homecoming Parade again this year! This year’s theme is Animated Movies. A group of parents and teachers will be working together to build the float. One of our State Road parents, Mr. Dan Pampreen, has agreed to head up the float committee. Anyone interested in helping with the float construction should contact Dan at (734) 748-2107 by Friday, September 16. More details regarding the parade participation and homecoming week will follow soon!

Let’s get fired up to support our Fenton Tigers!

Our next PTO Meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 11 beginning at 9:00am in our Media Center! All parents are welcome to attend! We love to see new faces and can't wait to meet you!

Allergy Information for our Cafeteria

  • All food served in the cafeteria in our ‘hot lunch’ line is peanut-free! We are no longer serving any peanut butter sandwiches or peanut-based products. (There will still be sunflower seeds available on the salad bar).

  • Our Food Service Department is offering a new Birthday Treat option to all families. Please see the Fenton Food Service website for more information.

  • We are continuing with our Allergy Table Option in our Cafetorium. Students with severe food allergies will still have the option to sit at our Allergy Table; or they can choose to sit at the “Red Zone” (which is a Nut Free area of our cafeteria tables) along with a “Yellow Zone” where friends with safe lunches can eat. This will allow our students to feel like they are part of their class and not segregated from everyone, while still sitting at a safe section of the table.
