A Note from Principal Lemons
Our scholars will be taking their second district assessment this week in all core content areas: Math, English, Science and Social Studies. We are upgrading our approach to highlight the importance of these assessments to better align with the setting they will have when taking the state assessments in the spring. Thus, their testing groups and environment will hopefully impact their thinking towards these tests. Their attendance, engagement and active participation is critical in their success. We need them on time, present and committed to showing progress in the skills they are being taught daily. Please help us to encourage them in these areas as we are committed to providing educational experiences that increase their achievement.
We not only need them at school, we need previous Chromebook fees paid and we need them to bring their Chromebooks charged each and every day. There are not enough loaner devices to compensate for a large number of scholars who routinely do not bring their assigned device to school.
We have several important events coming up that are opportunities to build community within our campus, support our scholars and showcase the many talents and interests of our student population. Please review the information carefully with your scholar and discuss ways they can increase their participation in their school community.
If you were unable to attend our All Pro Dads breakfast, it is not too late for you to volunteer to serve our campus. We have a campus of over 600 students and we need volunteer support to help our students. Please reach out to either our District Affiliate Leader John Mays or Chapter Leaders Mr. Elie and Mr. Green to learn of ways you can support Permenter Middle School through All Pro Dads.
Faithfully,
Principal Lemons
Permenter Health Services
Permenter is scheduled to conduct the mandatory state vision and hearing screenings for all 7th graders on November 8th and 9th.
Scoliosis screenings for female scholars 12 years of age will be held Thursday, November 10th.
Scoliosis screening for male scholars that are 13 years of age will be held Friday, November 11th.
Parent letters will be sent home with scholars this week regarding attire for the screening. If parents DO NOT want their scholar to participate in the scoliosis screening, please sign the letter and return it to the nurse's office by November 9th.

Lunch Reminders for 2022-2023
There is no longer universal lunch for all. Scholars must now pay for lunches if they do not receive free or reduced price lunch. We encourage everyone to complete the lunch application listed below.
- Universal breakfast for all
- Lunch Application for all
- My Payments Plus for Lunch Payments
- Permenter lunch menu for the week of October 31st
- MyPayments Plus is now configured to accept payments for fees associated with ID badges. The system won't accept balances accrued before the setup, but it can accept payment on fees moving forward.
- Continue to be mindful that there is no on-campus supervision before 8:15 AM or after 4:45 PM. Please ensure your scholar is not on campus outside of those time frames in the best interest of their safety.
A Note from CHHS Athletics:
Dear Scholars and Parents:
We want to ensure all scholars have the opportunity to take part in all events across the district. To ensure scholars are admitted into all athletic events at Cedar Hill High School, all scholars must present a non-torn digital ticket and their current school ID at the student gate. Additionally, all elementary and middle school scholars must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entirety of the game. These scholars will enter through the general admission gate. All scholars are welcome to attend and we hope they come to support all of our Longhorn scholar athletes!
