Distance Learning, Week 2, Volume 1
Pilot Week
Each day's worth of assignments are scheduled to be released that day and you should only be able to view the assignments that are applicable to your student in Classroom. So tomorrow morning at 7 am your child's work scheduled for Monday should appear in Classroom.
Now, I only have one Google Classroom which means every assignment I tell it what students it applies to. There is a HIGH likelihood I accidentally assigned the wrong assignment or missed your child on one assignment. I double checked my work this weekend and caught a few mistakes, but I am only human. Go by the learning grid and then kindly let me know the error so I can fix it.
For now, I am collecting nothing on the daily reading. My expectation is that kids are doing it and you as parents are reinforcing that. I am strongly against Reading Logs and have no plans on implementing one.
Attendance
Some people have reached out concerned whether or not I am receiving their check-in. This week I'll send a Remind message to let you know that I received it to help everyone feel a bit more confident. Also, your child only needs to submit it ONE time.
I opened the Check in window to be 7 am-7 pm. Please, please submit during that window. Remember if you attempt the check in and your child is refusing or being otherwise shall we say, uncooperative, please send me a message.
A few of the kids have asked how my baby is doing in the morning check in, so I'm including a picture of him below so you can show them he is doing just fine being stuck at home with mama. Also, please assure the kids I miss them terribly!
IEPs
For now, this will impact 4 of my families. You will be getting your IEP notice via email. If possible, please print it, sign it and then send me a photo of the signed copy. If that doesn't work for you, we will work something out.
Trial and Error
This is a trial and error process. There may be many things that go great this week and there may be some things I decide aren't working and toss em' out. It may also take some time to find a flow and rhythm at your house. I think under these circumstances, that is TOTALLY NORMAL.
We got this! Chat with you all Monday!
