the Anasazi civilization
the Anasazi civilization influenced the art and agriculture of the Hopi and Zuni (two of the most largest Pueblo groups today.) the Anasazi also made beautiful jewelry. They made turquoise jewelry,woven baskets,and black and white pottery.They constructed dams,ditches,and canals to hold rain from the surface of the mesa and go to gardens on the canyon floor.They made there houses out of adobe and stone , they had many stories and were apartment like structures.They lived along the walls of the cliffs or large plazas.The heart of there civilization was in Chaco canyon.Pueblo Bonito where there. It was a massive complex for over 1,000 people.They also built roads from Pueblo Bonito.
the Adena civilization
The Adena was also known as "The eastern woodlands people".they lived in 700BC around the Ohio valley region.They grew squash,gourds,barley,and sunflowers.produced copper jewelry and fine pottery.they made up burial mounds out of log structures coverd with dirt
The Hopewell civilization
lived in ohio vally around 300BC.they built big mounds up to 40ft high and 100ft wide.had a major trade net work.refered to as the mound builders.
The Mississipian civilization
The mississippians lived in the mississippi vally around 800AD.They had plants that used for many foods to increase population. they needed more land becauase the population increased so much.they had many cities. the biggest one was Cahokia.The cities had up to 10,000 people There was a massive mound in the middle of Cahokia It is 100fthigh and the base was 14 acres.There were 120 smaller mounds surrounding the massive mound.
