Community Day Next Friday!

We have already come to the final week of our first month of school. We've spent time learning about each other, learning about our classroom routines and digging into learning about our content areas. It's time to celebrate our community!

On the last Friday of the first month, we host our Community Day. All events take place during the school day and we find ways to connect students across the school. We have buddy classes that will meet virtually or outside, we have a virtual whole school read aloud and we dance the Husky Hustle. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and all classes can play outside together, too.

We will have a whole school spirit day on Friday. Wear your Hillcrest Husky gear or wear some blue!

Air Purifier Update

In response to requests and feedback from families, PTO took a vote to move forward with covering costs of the purchased HEPA air purifiers for your child's classrooms. A total of 18 units were purchased and each unit was $239 (over $4000 total).

We are asking that anyone interested in helping to contribute to their child's classroom HEPA air purifier, to please send a donation to PTO by October 4th. Donations can be sent to Venmo (@Hillcresthuskiepto) or send a check to school in an envelope labeled to PTO for air purifiers.

Calling all Vendors & Crafters: PTO Craft & Vendor Fair

Hillcrest PTO is hosting its annual Craft & Vendor Fair in November! We are actively seeking crafters or vendors for the event. Do you have direct sales home business or are you a crafter? Family members of Hillcrest receive a $25 discounted rate to participate in the craft and vendor fair. This event has been quite successful for crafter and vendors in prior years. Vendor/Craft agreements are due by 10/21. Contact Kim Smith, kappie26@yahoo.com, for more information.
