Updates from EUSD
August 7, 2020
It is hard to believe the first day of school is just around the corner! As we approach the start of the year, we wanted to share additional updates related to the EUSD Video Series, FAQs, Childcare, and Meal Availability.
As a reminder, we will begin the 2020-21 school year in a distance learning instructional model on Monday, August 17. Information related to the re-opening plans and updates are available for viewing on the District’s homepage at www.eusd.net. You will also receive direct communication from your school about materials pick up and teacher placement.
EUSD has released a series of video updates to assist families and staff in accessing necessary information in a timely manner. The following videos are currently available on the district’s webpage at www.eusd.net and via the direct links provided below:

Additional videos, including Special Education Update, Social / Emotional Supports Update, and Family Update will be posted early next week. In addition to this information, updated FAQs are available on our district webpage.
Childcare Update
We know there is a large child care need in our community and it is our ultimate goal to be able to support as a district, as well as facilitate support opportunities with our community partners. The information and requirements on programs like ASPIRE operating during the school day have continued to shift and change. Prior to today, the ASPIRE program was not eligible to operate in-person child care, due to state regulations and we have been anticipating this would change. For this reason, we have been putting plans in place for if and when we are allowed to open. New information received today indicates that we will soon be able to move forward with opening in the coming weeks. We will act quickly when official approval is announced.
We had hoped to bring the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club onto EUSD campuses to provide additional care, but are not able to do so at this time due to facility licensing requirements, as well as state waivers. Fortunately, the YMCA will be able to operate at the EUSD Farm Lab, and will be supporting child care at their Encinitas and Carlsbad locations. The Boys and Girls Club will be offering Child Care at their Encinitas location. Registration information was sent out earlier today via Peach Jar. All Peach Jar publications are available at www.eusd.net. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Meal Availability Update

Meals will be served 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. via drive-through trunk drop or walk-up.
