Southside Tiger Trails and Boy's Boot Camp for 4th and 5th Graders

The Collins Jr. ROTC will be hosting Tiger Trails and Boys Boot Camp for 4th and 5th Grade students here at Southside on the following Thursdays: April 14th; April 21st; April 28th from 2:30PM-4:00PM. This after school program for 4th and 5th grade students focuses on being a positive leader, making good choices and team building activities that promote physical fitness. There is no cost for the program but SPACE IS LIMITED! Student MUST have their own transportation for pick up at 4:00PM. Registration for this program ends on Friday, March 25th.

Southside Drama Production: Disney's Jungle Book, KIDS!

The Southside drama production of Disney Jungle Book, Kids! will have the night time performance on Wednesday, March 30th at 6:30PM. Adult tickets are $5.00 and $2.00 for school-aged children. All tickets will be sold at the door. Children under 5 years old are free. Come out for a fun filled evening!

2016 History Camp is Here!​

For kids 7-12 years old

It’s that time again! The Shelby County Historical Society is excited to announce our 2016 History Camp. This year’s camp is to be held at Red Orchard Park. The theme is the Civil War Era in Kentucky. Campers will experience what it would have been like to live between 1850's-1860's. The dates for this year’s camp are June 7, 8, and 9. Things will get started at 8:15 am in the morning and end by 2:30 each day. Registrations must be received by May 24, 2016. Camp Hi-Ho

Camp Hi-Ho is located at 5915 Aiken Road and is now accepting registration for their summer camps. Below is the link to the Camp Hi-Ho website that has all of their camp offerings, dates and prices.

If you happen to be headed into the Louisville area this summer the majority of these camps listed are in the Louisville area. However, it is always good to see what may be out there! Join us for a fun-filled summer so full of making, playing, exploring, and meeting amazing guest presenters, that you won’t even realize you’re learning! Summer Camps are designed for rising 1st through 6th graders (please see individual camp descriptions for suggested age range).

All camp sessions are:

  • taught by professional educators
  • limited to 18 children
  • run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the option for extended care until 5:30 p.m.

Kentucky 4-H Camp

Kentucky 4-H Camp sponsored by the County Extension Office will run June 28th-July1st. Adventure awaits! Arts and Crafts, Camping, Swim, Hike and Fish! Learn about Archery, Rifle and Sports! Camp Wallace at Lake Cumberland

Camp Wallace at Lake Cumberland is sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife July 18-22. Activities include: Nature Outdoor Survival, Archery, Boating/Canoeing, Swimming, Fishing/Casting. Camp includes a Junior Sportsman's License! Register by April 1 for the Early Bird Discount of $225.00. After April 1st cost increases to $235.00. Spots are on a first come first serve basis.
