Fall assessments are currently underway. All students will take the District Essential Mathematics Indicators Assessment (DEMI) and the Fastbridge Reading Assessment (FAST). Students will take each assessment twice a year (Pre and Post) to measure growth. Teachers will use this as formative data to support students in need of intervention support. Students will reflect on their scores and set goals for their growth. Please take a moment to encourage your students to do their best on these assessments.

The San Diego Unified School District is offering a one year grace period where the physicals for the 2021-22 school year are acceptable one year from their date of clearance; however in the 2022-23 school year, all physicals will need to be completed after June 1st to be covered for the entirety of the 2022-23 school year
College & Career Pathways
Project Based Learning allows students to experience core academic content by actively engaging in projects that are personally meaningful to them. The Center for Medical & Emergency Services team brought students together for a Project Launch with a surprise guest (virtual) appearance! Students will be exploring the essential questions, “What barriers exist for students in achieving physical and mental health?” “How does exercise and nutrition affect performance and well being?” This exploration will begin by choosing a focus for their own project with establishing baseline data. Students will research a variety of factors that impact physical and mental health and create hypothesis based on a factor they would like to test to improve their own well being. Students will execute that plan for a span of 30 days and journal their progress and results and then analyze their own data. Students will show case their learning in podcasts and on a YouTube channel to share with their community.
For more information, email College & Career Pathway Coordinator Lori Williams at lwilliams7@sandi.net.
