March 21 - March 24

Greetings

Hello All,

Please take a moment to read this memo (it can get lengthy) each week. This is where we will post all the important dates and events to keep up with.

The weekly newsletters may also be found archived on our class website under the "Weekly Newsletters" page. Questions and/or comments? Please let me know!

For the love of learning,

SURVIVOR ISLAND

This week, 4th graders will be participating in Survivor Island all week. Here are a few pointers for the week.

  • Students may wear their tie dye shirts each day if they wish. I have given each student a writing necklace, which should be left at school until Thursday as we will be adding to it each day.
  • There are several rotations which use electronic devices, so it's great if students can bring devices.
  • No backpacks are necessary this week.
  • Students are given a snack each morning, but you are always welcome to send additional snacks and water bottles with students.
  • This is a review of skills we have covered all year and should be a fun way to practice putting everything together.
  • Students were encouraged to create a symbol for our team's flag. DESIGNS ARE DUE TUESDAY MORNING.

Parent Letter Request

As a way to encourage students to relax and do their best work on the upcoming Writing STAAR, 4th grade teachers are asking parents to write a quick note of encouragement that we will give to students before they take the STAAR test next Tuesday. More details about this card will be in this week's Wednesday folder, so please look for the envelope and card.
