As well as writing two revolutionary textbooks from his own knowledge, Dmitri Mendeleev created the original periodic table and discovered the method of categorizing them in a periodic order. The picture below depicts the current periodic table used today.

This depicts one of Mendeleev's original versions of the periodic table while is still contained many gaps for elements that had yet to be discovered.
Later version of the table
This depicts a later version of Mendeleev's table after Marie Curie discovered radium, which he included in this version of the table.
