A Message From Mrs. Booth...
I keep saying it over and over...this has been one of the best starts we've ever had! Check out the pictures below from our student-led leadership assembly!
I can't wait to see where this year takes us! It's going to be fantastic!

A Message from the PTA...
1. Invest In Your Child!
Invest In Your Child is the big annual fundraiser that supports all the awesome PTA programs, events, and activities benefiting our school and community! We know that you already juggle so many fundraisers for your child’s sports teams and scouts, and probably can’t bear the thought of hitting up friends and family for another one. Instead of doing door-to-door sales, pledge-a-thons, or other time-consuming drudgery, Silver Springs PTA simply asks families to make a one-time donation at the beginning of the year. With these generous donations from parents and families, the PTA is able to provide programs, events, activities, staff support, and school improvements throughout the entire year. No one is required to donate, of course, and any amount is valued. The more people who donate, the more we can do for your students and our school! To learn more about how these funds benefit our school, visit our “Invest In Your Child” page. A paper copy of the flyer was sent home on first day of school – so look for that in your child’s backpack. You can donate online via MemberHub or by sending in the form to school, along with check or cash. Thank you!
2. Prizes!!!
When your family donates to Invest In Your Child (any contribution amount!) by Friday, September 16, your student(s) will be entered into a raffle to win our BE THE PRINCIPAL prize! The student will get to come to Mrs. Booth’s office, make announcements over the loudspeaker, visit classrooms, and dismiss kids for the end of the day! There will be three students selected in the raffle, so there are lots of chances to win!
AND, the grade with the most families who donated to Invest In Your Child (any contribution amount!) by Friday, September 16 will win an extra recess on the following Monday!
3. Birthday Lunches
The Birthday Lunch program is a fun way to celebrate your child’s special day and the funds raised from this program directly benefit PTA programs. Win-win! To sign up and select your date, parents may submit a request form and a donation (any amount) to the PTA. On your child’s day, you can come and join them for lunch! Some parents choose to bring a special lunch or a treat. You get to sit at the Birthday Lunch table near the MPR, which will be decorated with a tablecloth, birthday napkins, and party hats. For more info, visit the Parents & Families page of our website. Also, a paper copy of the flyer came home in your child’s backpack on the first day of school. *Please book soon, as dates will fill up! Also, please book at least two weeks in advance to ensure our volunteers are available.
4. Next PTA Meeting: Thursday, October 6 at 6:30pm in the Media Center
The next meeting will feature our principal, Mrs. Booth, and community police officer, Andrew Domzalski, speaking about school safety, emergency preparedness and response, and the ALICE response protocol. The PTA business will include voting to approve our annual budget, and committee and volunteer needs. Anyone may attend, but only PTA members may vote.
5. PTA Meeting Calendar for 2022-2023
2022-2023 PTA Meeting Schedule is up on the web. There are eight meetings planned for this year: two will be morning meetings (9am), and six will be evening meetings (6:30pm), to accommodate a variety of schedules. We have a guest speaker or additional valuable content planned for almost every meeting!
6. Board of Education Candidate Forum on October 4 at 6:30pm
An election for three open seats on the Northville Public Schools Board of Education is coming up: November 8, 2022. The Northville Council of PTAs will host a Board of Education Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30 pm to introduce candidates to the voters and school community. Location is TBD. The Forum will last no longer than 90 minutes and will be recorded. The PTA is non-partisan and will not endorse specific candidates, however, we do encourage you to participate and vote in this very important election.
7. Save the Date: Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 21 from 6:00-7:30pm in the Silver Springs parking lot
More details coming soon!
8. Snapshots for the yearbook
The Silver Springs Elementary PTA creates a yearbook each year for students to purchase (advance sales will begin in January, yearbooks are distributed in June). Throughout the year, parents and staff are encouraged to submit photos of all things Silver Springs! Now submitting your snapshots is easier than ever! Infectious Disease Response to COVID
2022-2023
Students and staff that contract COVID should follow the Health Department recommendations and isolate for five days from the date where symptoms were present or from the date of their positive rapid or pcr test. Isolation includes waiting to return to school until the isolation period has ended. It is also recommended that students or staff should wear a mask for 5 days past their isolation period.
Parents should notify their child’s school of the absence reason so that teachers are aware of the student's absence period and our nurses can follow the health department’s infectious disease requirements. NPS School Nurses are available should you have any questions.
