PONY NEWS February 27th
HELLO PONIES - A LITTLE TO SHARE ABOUT MS. BUTLER
I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO until I was in high school when I moved to McAllen, TX. I was on the track and cross country teams. My junior year we went to state in cross country. It was quite the experience.
I am the only girl with three brothers. Two of my brothers live in Flower Mound. It is nice to have them close by. My father owns/operates a Chick-Fil-A in Arkansas.
I have three children myself, two boys and one girl. Both boys are in college and my daughter is a junior at LHS. She will graduate next January. My oldest son is a Marine who served in Afghanistan years ago. He has a Purple Heart and will receive his Associate's Degree in May. He is working towards his Bachelor's degree at TCU. He has three beautiful girls 7, 4, and 1. Grandchildren are definitely the best thing ever.
When not at work or with my kids, I spend time either at sporting events or watching sports on TV. I enjoy football, baseball, and hockey the most.
This is my 22nd year teaching and my 12th in Lewisville. I have taught Kinder, K-1, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. I am always looking for new ways to engage my students especially through the use of technology. Teaching has definitely been a very rewarding career choice for me.

Meaningful Feedback During their Learning
5 Research-Based Tips for Providing Students with Meaningful Feedback
When people are trying to learn new skills, they must get some information that tells them whether or not they are doing the right thing. Learning in the classroom is no exception. Both the mastery of content and, more importantly, the mastery of how to think require trial-and-error learning.
Although there is no quick or easy answer to this question, here are five research-based tips for providing students with the kind of feedback that will increase motivation, build on existing knowledge, and help them reflect on what they've learned.

Calendar for the next 2 weeks:
We are Teachers of Teachers!
This Actionable Feedback template is similar to what we were already using with the something I like... and I wonder... but it provides us with the opportunity to be more specific with the feedback.
The Actionable Feedback will consist of the D.I.E. method (Describe, Interpret, Evaluate).
- D-Describe what we saw
- I-Interpret attach personal meaning
- E-Evaluate-creating next steps
The purpose of providing actionable feedback is to to monitor progress and adjust practices (if necessary). This method of feedback will support and ensure that we are meeting our goals.
We will be using actionable feedback campus wide.
Here are two samples of Actionable Feedback:
This is also a great transition for LEAD (the district's new and upcoming teacher's evaluation system). We are all learners! We are always growing!
We are so proud of our students. They did a great job at the: Imagination Destination Contest
