Early Excellence Express

October 14, 2019

Tomball Fire Department visited EEA this past week to educate our students about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

What do we do when we see smoke? Get Low and Go!

What do we dial when we have an emergency? 9-1-1

What important numbers do we need to know to get the firefighters to us?

Students should know their home address.

Please take the time to continue to review these lessons at home for everyone's safety!

Our smart boards have arrived and were installed Tuesday. Each classroom is now equipped with the interactive white boards. We can't wait to introduce some amazing interactive activities to our students!

Storybook Pumpkins

EEA is growing a storybook pumpkin patch, and we need your help! Decorate a pumpkin to look like one of your family's favorite book characters, and bring it to EEA to plant in our Storybook Pumpkin Patch!

What is a storybook pumpkin?

Think of your family's favorite book and design your pumpkin based on your favorite character from that book.

Purchase a pumpkin that is no larger in size than a basketball.

Gather your decorating supplies. Acrylic paints or permanent markers work best. Watercolors tend to run, and spray paint will gradually dissolve the pumpkin. Other options include adding materials such as yarn, buttons, wiggly eyes, etc.

Decorate your pumpkin without carving, cutting, or poking holes in it. Carved pumpkins will not be accepted.

Click here to print out the entry form HERE. All entries must have the entry form.

Bring your pumpkin and entry page to EEA between Monday, October 28th and Wednesday, October 30.

Pumpkins are to be taken home at the end of school on Friday, November 8th.

Participation is completely voluntary.

Coffee in the Cafe

Parents, we continue to invite you to join us for "Coffee in the Cafe." Coffee in the Cafe is a designated time devoted to visiting with our families weekly as we continue to grow. Families can build supportive relationships with each other and center staff as they offer feedback regarding EEA. Your feedback will then be used to facilitate our families' needs as well as to develop our center.

Coffee in the Cafe is held each Friday from 3:30 pm to 4:45 in our center's cafeteria. If you are unable to enjoy a cup of coffee with us, please leave us an "EspressNote." EspressNotes can be completed at any time and reviewed by staff on Fridays.

We will keep the coffee pot full for you!
