Patience Trait
I interviewed three CCA students to find out what patience means to them. These are their answers: Dakoda, 10th grade, said patience is being respectful and understanding towards others. Vivian, from 8th grade, said that you display patience when you take the time to pray and wait for God to help you. Kimber from 2nd grade said that patience means waiting on people without becoming angry or upset. The Bible verse for this month’s Character Trait is based on 1st Corinthians 14:33, "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." –Kennedy Vaughn
On This Day In History: December 2nd.
The Monroe Doctrine, which declared that the U.S. would not interfere in European affairs but that its sphere of interest included the entire Western Hemisphere, was enunciated by President James Monroe in 1823.
In 1804, Napoleon crowned himself emperor of France. Napoleon first seized political power in a coup d'état in 1799. The coup resulted in the replacement of the extant governing body—a five-member Directory—by a three-person Consulate. The first consul, Napoleon, had all the real power; the other two consuls were figureheads. Napoleon eventually abolished the Consulate and declared himself Emperor Napoleon I of France. -Devoney Conner.
