Health Tip of the Week
Hopefully you were able to enjoy the extra hour of sleep last weekend! November is the beginning of cold and flu season which leaves many people wondering if and when they’ll get hit with an illness. Instead of waiting around to get sick, why don’t you take some steps to avoid it?
Increase Vitamin D Intake
Lowering your body weight by just 5%, lowering your cholesterol, and exercising regularly are all excellent ways to raise your vitamin D levels naturally.
Plant-based Dieting
Flaxseed and chia seeds are considered superfoods that are packed with ALA and help boost your immune system. Walnuts are a great way to get your nutrients with healthy on-the-go snacking between all the holidays in November.
Exercise
Getting your heart rate up and blood pumping for 150 minutes a week will help you beat the winter blues and fatigue from November until spring.
Sleep
Getting 8 hours of sleep a night is vital to your health year-round.
Don’t Skimp on Antioxidants
Antioxidant-rich foods are the best way to boost your immune system and overall health naturally. Fruits and veggies are filled with antioxidants, along with many herbal teas and juices.
