IB TRAIT OF THE MONTH

Communicator: "I express ideas by speaking, drawing, and writing. I can communicate through music, dance, and drama."

Teachers as Communicators: Teachers are expected to be expert communicators with strong social skills. Effective teachers can communicate in multiple ways. Communication is sensory and information is exchanged through five dimensions. The five dimensions are auditory, visual, tactile, aromatic, and flavorful. Teachers benefit from good communication skills when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Why do teachers communicate?

  • How important is non verbal communication in daily classroom interactions?

  • How is communication both expressive and receptive?

  • As a teacher, do you consider communicating with parents important?
