Spring Forward Reminder
Asynchronous School Day - March 14
Dear Preschool and Elementary Parents:
As I shared in my parent update on Monday, we will be following a similar plan for ‘Explore Boards’ for students during our next asynchronous day on Monday, March 14th. Note. For Preschool, you will not be working on Explore Boards, but will have learning experiences unique to preschool. Please see Mrs. Surso’s email that was sent out yesterday to all preschool parents for the details.
Student Learning Experiences
Due to the number of activities that were available on our February boards and the average number of activities completed by students, you will notice that some activities are the same and some new activities have been added. The evolution of the Explore Boards for March has been based on your feedback. In addition to the links below, teachers will have these Explore Boards posted in their Google Classroom. Although we are sharing these boards now, there is no expectation that students work on them prior to Monday (3/14).
- Click here to access the work for Preschool students
- Click here to access the Explore Board for Grs. K-2
- Click here to access the Explore Board for Grs. 3-5
'Explore Boards' Directions
- Engage in as many of the Explore Board activities and experiences as you can based on what sparks your interest. You must complete at least one (1) Explore Board experience.
- On Tuesday (3/15), your child will engage in a reflection activity in class based on his / her Explore Board activity selection(s). Again, this reflection will be done at school, not at home.
- Your child does not need to bring in evidence of completion of their work on the Explore Boards to school.
- If you would like to share a picture / post of your child’s work on the Explore Board activities on social media, use the #SCSExplores hashtag.
- Unless your child has make-up work to complete, there will be no other assignments from your child’s teacher on this day.
I hope you and your children have a fun day and a wonderful long weekend together exploring all of these great learning opportunities!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cameron M. Ryba

Strongsville Women’s League Art Contest
Strongsville Women’s League is holding an art contest for Strongsville residents currently enrolled in grades K-5th Grade. Have you ever thought about what makes your family yours? What are the traditions that create great memories year after year? This year the Strongsville Women’s League wants to know what makes your family unique. Please create an image which shows your favorite part of being you in your family. “My favorite tradition is…”. Entries will be accepted March 14 - April 14 and can be dropped off in the main office at any elementary school. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for grades K&1, 2&3, and 4&5 students. Artwork will be judged and prizes will be awarded on Friday, April 29. Good luck and have fun! Please contact Karen Burgund (kmbrona@aol.com) or Barb Toth (barbt4908@yahoo.com) with any questions or concerns.

STAND UP IN STRONGSVILLE LLS Fundraiser
Strongsville Families,
I am beyond excited to announce that Strongsville is participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS), “Students of the Year” campaign for 2022. I was nominated to lead this challenge by my high school Athletic Director and the Principal of my high school. I feel honored and so grateful to be a part of this amazing fundraising experience with LLS! I have put together a team of support to help raise money and awareness for this great cause – to bring an end to cancer!
Our Team name is “Stand Up In Strongsville”. Student of the Year program is a 7 week challenge between other high school students in surrounding cities in Northern Ohio to raise the most amount of money for a great cause – Finding a cure for cancer! Our competition ends on March 19th, 2022. During this 7 week challenge, my team and I are determined to reach our goal of $60,000 and raise even more! (All donations are tax deductible! Tax ID #13-5644915). Please help us reach our team goal of $60,000 and fight with us against cancer!
