Now one of the most valuable and influential companies in the world Apple began as just a couple of people in a garage. Apple's success was cemented after the release of the Macintosh computer in 1984. After this the company continued expand until 1985 when Jobs was removed from his position and forced to leave the company. Soon after leaving jobs formed a new company called neXT a rival company that eventually became renowned for its advanced email system and software. The company in 1996 was bought by Apple allowing jobs to once again be apart of the company he created. From there the company became what it is today.
The company started with the two building the Altair BASIC a BASIC interpreter for the Altair 8800. Soon after they founded Microsoft with Gates as CEO. Eventually they were contracted to create an operating system which became MS-DOS and quickly became the dominant OS thanks to its wide support and ability to install it on any computer. This cemented the company and eventually led them to becoming one of the top software and computer creators.
Facebook started out as a Harvard only service that started out as a simple note sharing service created by Zuckerburg. In order to create Facebook Zuckerburg tricked his fellow classmates into helping him create a different website. He used there work to create Facebook which has now become the dominant social media network.
Twitter was created during a brainstorming session regularly held by the company Odeo. Development for the site began soon after and became one of the companies most valuable assets. Odeo soon became Obvious Corporation Twitter remaining as a valuable asset to the company. Twitter eventually became completely independent and broke off into its own company. The major point where Twitter became a dominant network tool was during the South by Southwest Interactive conference where its average users tripled in only a matter of days.
