Parkway Today
October 20, 2021
Is it snowing yet?
It's nearly November and as the weather gets colder it's a good time to remind families and staff about inclement weather procedures. Parkway will conduct a test of its emergency notification system for staff and parents Tuesday, October 26 at 7 p.m. This annual test ensures that we have accurate contact information for you in case of an emergency.
New this year: Parents of middle or high school students can add their child’s cell phone number so they will receive a text message in the event of a snow day or school closing. For instructions on updating student contact information, click here.
A note about snow days: In-person classes may be canceled due to inclement weather or other emergencies. If we use three snow days this year, subsequent snow days would be virtual learning day. We also may use a delayed start on inclement weather days.
Keeping our students safe is our number one priority, including being prepared for an emergency. We will use this system to let you know if school is canceled due to severe weather or in case of an emergency at your school.
To update or change your contact information or your child’s contact information, login to the Infinite Campus parent portal.
School closing and emergency information will also be available on local TV and radio broadcasts, Parkway’s website at parkwayschools.net, Parkway Schools mobile app and Parkway Schools Facebook and Twitter.
As you may know, our country is now facing a national food shortage which will impact the ability for Parkway Food Pantry and our families to access the food they need. This is at a time when students have breaks from school during the holiday seasons and may not have access to daily meals like they do at school.
We need your help! Would you like to sponsor a family for the Thanksgiving and holiday season? A donation of any amount will help us and our students. Donate with PayPal here or use our district online payment system here (click donations tab).
We cannot thank you enough for your support as we work to provide access to food and nutrition to Parkway students and their families!
Homecoming highlights
Each high school celebrated homecoming in style over the past month. Students had the chance to take over Parkway's Instagram account to share their school spirit!

Help shape the future
The Parkway School District is looking forward to hearing what you think about a number of issues facing the future of your local schools and education in our community. Parents and other community members will receive a link to a survey in the mail, which should take less than five minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.
Your opinions are important as we navigate beyond the pandemic and move forward in our long-range planning for school building improvements.
Fall art and craft fairs
It’s officially fall -- time to shop for unique holiday gifts and decorations at Parkway’s fall art & craft fairs. Proceeds from the craft fairs benefit the high school band programs.
Health and safety reminder
If your child forgets to bring their mask, we have extras on each school bus.
Please remember that masks are required inside all Parkway schools and buildings at the moment. Proper mask wearing can reduce quarantine time or eliminate it completely. Thank you for your cooperation!
