Staff Sparklight-Mrs. LaCava
I went to a private Christian School, Faith Christian Academy for high school. After graduation, I married my high school sweetheart and best friend. He joined the military and we moved two thousand miles away from all of our family and friends. At the age of 18, I became the wife of a Marine. Although, being a Marine wife came with many challenges, I was honored to stand by my husband and support him as he served our country.
Now, many years later, I am attending Liberty University and I will have my degree in Early Childhood Education and a certificate in Christian Counseling in December.
I have been at Kellison for a total of 12 years.
My husband, Jody and I have been married for 33 years and have two amazing daughters and a son in law. Kara who is 29 and James her husband, and Becca who is 23.
When I was younger I always wanted to be a journalist. I would always sit with my dad and watch the news and there was an anchor on there by the name of Cheri Banks, and I always wanted be like her.
What I am the most proud of is my family. I have been blessed with an awesome husband, and two amazing daughters. As a parent, watching your children grow and mature into awesome adults, and to know that all the love, time, energy and support has truly made them the person they are. Kara is a teacher and Becca is going into the ministry. My husband and I could not be prouder of the young ladies they have become.
My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. We love to play games, take walks, and just hang out and have fun.
I believe my spark is to be an encourager, to make a difference for someone. It’s about making someone’s day.
There are two memories of Kellison that I have. The first is when Lisa Vowell and Lisa Gardner would do the roast at the year end breakfast. Those days were the best and I know everyone never laughed so hard. The time and energy they put into it was priceless and made it an unforgettable experience.
The other memory I have is the love and support that I received from everyone when I lost my mom. That was one of the most difficult times of my life. The outpouring of cards, encouraging words and hugs were something I will never forget.
