Back at School Starting October 5th!

The first day of in-person learning on October 5th is quickly approaching; we can't wait to meet and connect with our wildcats in-person! Our staff at KSTM is working diligently to ensure we are providing students with a safe learning environment. Included in this newsletter is important information to help you and your student prepare for what to expect with in-person learning in the Family 3/2 model. Here are a few reminders:

  1. Students MUST bring their iPad and charger to school every day.
  2. Students will not have access to a locker during the school day; they will be allowed to carry their backpack with them if they bring one to school.
  3. When students are at home learning, they will log in live to their class through Microsoft Teams just like they have been doing while we've been in remote learning. School will start at 7:40 and end at 3:05 for all students (in-person and remote) now that we are learning in the Family 3/2 Model.
  4. Students who want to eat school breakfast may begin arriving to school at 7:10. If students do not want breakfast and arrive before 7:25, they will sit, socially distanced, in the gym. See the 'Morning Procedures' graphic below for more information.

See below for days students should report for the week of October 5th.

Important Note from the School Nurse Mrs. Anderson

It is important to have students compliant with Nebraska's immunization requirements for school age children. Please be sure the school nurse has the most up-to-date immunization records. Please note, the state regulations are for all students regardless of whether they are participating in school in person or remotely.

Also, Nebraska requires physical exams for students entering 7th grade and physical exams including a vision exam for students transferring in from out of state.

Parents/Guardians can call the school nurse at 531-299-2381 if assistance is needed with obtaining the necessary vaccination.

Counselor's Corner

Students please make sure you are able to log in to your Naviance account and complete the first activity. Please view the powerpoint below for further instructions.

Attendance Matters! Attend Every Class, Every Day, On Time! Call 531-299-2389 if your student will be absent.

The 2020-21 school year is in full swing and we are excited to be connecting with our wildcats!

Regular school attendance is crucial to the development and education of students, even during remote learning. Daily engagement will ensure students are on track and prepared, especially as we look toward a return to in-person learning when it is possible. We expect all of our students to arrive on time every day to every class.

Attendance is being taken in every class, every day, for all students regardless if they are in-person or remote learners. If your student will be absent, even for remote learning, please contact the school's attendance secretary before 7:40 a.m. by calling 531-299-2389. If you leave a voicemail, please include your student's name and the reason for the absence. We appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to learning together in person soon.
