Park Terrace Elementary
February 9, 2022 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week! While the world watches the Olympics in Beijing, our students are enjoying the spirit of the Olympics by participating in a variety of different competitive events like cross country skiing and long jump, and hosting a parade around the school last Friday for the opening ceremony! Each class represents a different country and Coach Downs is tracking their score as each class goes for the gold!
Here are a few quick updates this week:
- We hosted our Kindergarten Kickoff event last week, and we all got excited as we look ahead to next year. If you know a future Panther, let them know it’s not too late to visit our school or enroll. The priority deadline for enrollment is February 28, 2022.
- Fourth graders and families, don’t forget you are invited to Westwood to learn more about 5th grade tomorrow evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. You won’t want to miss this chance to look around and learn more about next year.
- Yesterday, the school board approved changes to the district’s Face Mask Decision-Making Guide that will be in place from February 25 through the end of the school year. If you missed it, see the update that went out earlier today with details.
- As a reminder, there is no school on Thursday, February 17, Friday, February 18 (these are staff communication, planning and learning days) and Monday, February 21 (Presidents' Day).
After a long stretch of cold, our students loved getting out in the “warmth” the past couple of days! It is starting to feel like spring might be just around the corner. Have a great week, Panthers!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
