Principal's Corner

Hello RMS Families,

The end of Quarter 1 is on November 12. Students still have time to complete missing work and/or re-submit assignments identified by their teachers to improve their grades. Please take time to look at Schoology with your student and identify assignments /coursework they can complete by the end of the Quarter to improve their grade. Email their teachers if you have any questions. We will have our Annual Title I meeting at 6:00 on Thursday, November 11th.

Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions. Thank you for partnering with us in the education of your student!

Sincerely,

Teresa Vibar

Tech Time

Hotspots & Internet Access

If you have an SPPS Hotspot at home that was checked out prior to September 2021, please send it to school with your student to be checked out again. Either the librarian or I can do it quickly and easily. On November 10th, Hotspots that have not been checked out again will be turned off. We want to support your Internet access at home, but we also want to be sure the Hotspots are still needed. By having everyone who still needs their Hotspot check it out again, we will ensure continued access for those who need it. If you do not have Internet access at home, please review the information at https://bit.ly/homeWiFi. Then you can let me know if a Hotspot or Comcast Internet Essentials is a better choice for your family.

Feel free to contact me with questions: email cara.hagen@spps.org or text (612) 568-2358‬.

Thank you,

Cara Hagen

7th & 8th Grade Student Council Shoutout!

During Foundations, interested students recently applied to be part of Ramsey's Student Council. In addition, applicants needed to give a brief speech to their Foundations class about why they were choosing to run to be a student council representative. Shoutout to all of the students who were risk-takers and applied for student council.

Congratulations to the following 7th grade students who will be this year's student council representatives for 7th grade at Ramsey: Matt, Justin W, Bea, Relena, Dahja, Arthur, Alaina, Mariella, Justin L, Augie, Wallis and Nora.

Congratulations to the following 8th grade students who will be this year's student council representatives for 8th grade at RMS: Iftuu, Zion, Chris, Sefirah, Lahna, Amariona, Kiernan, Eleanor, Amira, and Mikale.

Classroom Updates

RMS Music Update

Quarter 1 is coming to a close. Please talk with your students on their work this last quarter - and remind them to send in questions if they need help before assignments are due, 11/12.

On 11/11, Ramsey is having its annual Fall Sampler Concert. Please find the PDF attached with more information. This is directly after our school's Title 1 meeting, which you are also encouraged to attend while students prepare to play.

The concert will begin at 6:30pm on 11/11 and is IN-PERSON (yay!). Of course, this means we'll need to take extra pre-cautions. We suggest limiting two family members per scholar to help with our social distance, masks are required, and families we will sign-in. That and more information is available in the Fall Sampler PDF. Thank you!
