Weekly Newsletter
February 10, 2023
Hello WES Families,
It has been another fun and exciting week here at WES as we get ready for the Super Bowl! This week has also been National School Counseling week. I would like to thank Mrs. Aiello, our school counselor, for all that she does for our students, staff, and families!
Lastly, I have a few important items to pass along below.
- Due to the Super Bowl, Durham Transportation anticipates challenges on Monday, February 13th with driver shortages or canceled routes. Durham is working to mitigate the impact on our students and parents. Please be prepared to make back-up transportation plans, such as driving your student or carpooling, should issues occur with shortages and routes. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
- Our Valentine's Day parties will be Tuesday, February 14th. When students receive candy/treats with their cards from their classmates, the items will be sent home to be enjoyed there.
Go Birds!

Registration for 2023-2024 School Year
Registration is now open for enrolling any NEW students for next school year. A letter was provided to Wrightstown Elementary School families from Nicole Crawford (Director of Elementary Education) and me regarding the registration of children attending WES for the first time for the 2023-2024 school year.
The letter stated:
We are monitoring the number of new registrants to Wrightstown Elementary due to our projected enrollment numbers and space challenges. Therefore, we recommend that you register your child for the 2023-2024 school year as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of a grade level reaching its maximum.
Online Registration: The Council Rock School District utilizes a secure online portal for a parent(s) to enroll their child(ren). Please ensure you have all required documents ready before starting the enrollment process below. The application functions best in the Chrome browser on a desktop or laptop.
Your child is NOT registered until all documents have been received, reviewed by central registration, and the final registration document has been signed by the parent.

Free Breakfast Program
A message went out from the school district this week with information about the free breakfast program. Council Rock will begin offering free breakfast to all enrolled students at the elementary and middle school levels starting Monday, October 3rd through the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
What you need to know:
- No sign-up is required.
- Daily breakfast menus will be available on our menus website.
- Students enter their lunch ID number and get breakfast in the cafeteria upon arrival at school.
- Breakfast will be pre-bagged and have an optional milk and fruit selection.
The protocol for WES will be that children may pick up the bagged breakfast in the cafeteria upon arrival to school on their way to their homeroom. Students will use their lunch ID when picking up the breakfast, and then they will eat in their homeroom. Issues may arise with disruptions to our morning classroom routines or creating excessive messes in classes. We will address these needs as we begin the program, and, if needed, we will make changes as to where the students will eat their breakfast. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions.
