Principal's Letter
Greetings Lake Windward Elementary Families,
I have been loving the slightly cooler temperatures over the last week! I welcome this little taste of autumn as it feels awesome outside! I hope you and your family were able to get outside and enjoy the weather at some point over the weekend. The question is, will it last??
On Friday, I had the pleasure of working with the PTO grant committee to allocate $17,000 worth of teacher/staff grant requests. These grants were made possible because of your support of our PTO sponsored "Baskets and Binglow" event in February. Every teacher had the opportunity to write a grant request. The committee then looks through all of the requests and grants as many as possible to support the students and teachers at our school. Stay tuned to find out some of the neat things our classrooms will be getting due to your generosity and support through the PTO!!
Another great way to support our school is through the Book Fair. Our students love to get to shop for books and subsequently this helps raise money for needed resources for our school. LWE gets 25% of all of our book fair sales. We use this money to buy books for the library, books to support curriculum in the classrooms as well as technology needed (iPads, document cameras, etc.).
I could not feel more blessed to work with such an amazing community of students, parents and educators. As always, thank you for your continued support of our fantastic school!
Warm regards,
Julie Morris

Join the LWE Super Dads!!!
Dads, are you looking for an easy way to volunteer at our school? Come and join the Super Dads every Friday morning for carpool, starting at 7:10am. It only takes 30 minutes of your time on the Fridays that you choose. The kids love it when parents are at car pool to help them out of their cars. This is your chance to volunteer and make a difference for students and staff at LWE!! All you have to do is show up at the start of carpool, open some car doors and enjoy the smiles from our LWE students!! See you next Friday or any Friday morning that works for you!
