Monthly Reading Log

We will be logging our minutes read.

PK, K, and 1st grade will log your minutes on your reading calendar. Please total the minutes for each week. At the end of the month, you will add each week and record the total monthly minutes. Parents: Please sign your child's reading card.

2nd grade - You will write your minutes on your weekly homework sheet.

3rd, 4th, 5th - You will record your minutes in your agenda each day. At the end of the month, please total your minutes and have them ready to share with your teacher.

Our Goal is for each student to read at least 10 minutes every night.

Borrow a Book - AKA - BOB

Borrow a Book is a place where students can come to "borrow a book". They can take the book home with them and enjoy it as long as they want. Once the student returns the book they borrowed, they can borrow another book. It puts a smile on my face to hear the students sharing their excitement about the books they have borrowed and recommending books to their friends.

Donations: If you have any new or lightly used books that your child is finished with, please consider donating them to EES for Borrow a Book or for use in classroom libraries.

There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book. —Frank Serafini
