Homer High-Lights
Volume 2, Issue 7, February 2014
Message from the Principal
We are trying to redesign and re-energize our Spring Parent Teacher conferences. Traditionally, these have been our lowest attended conferences of the year so we are going to try to spice them up and make them more relevant for both students and parents.
The main change will be that our evening session will be on Wednesday, February 5th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the commons. This is meant to be a celebration of our students' hard work and informational meetings for parents along with conferences with teachers. All teachers will be in the commons. There will be student presentations in the commons throughout the evening, and student work will be on display. Snacks will be provided.
We understand this will be a little different than what we have done in the past, but we are trying to meet your needs as you have shared with us. If you still need to meet with teachers for a more in-depth session, you can sign up for a time on Thursday. Teachers will have sign up lists available.
We think this will be a fun, informational and worthwhile experience for everyone. We hope to see you there. A draft schedule is provided below.
Remember, my office is always open and I would love to hear your opinions or suggestions. I am making it my goal to be more responsive to what our parents and community want and need. Please give me a call or come in and chat.
Sincerely,
Douglas Waclawski
Principal
