Raising Multi-Cultural Kids (RMK)
Raising Multicultural Kids (RMK) is an Easton based non-profit focused on providing children with a multicultural education to help students become racially and culturally competent and acquire the ability to navigate and celebrate different cultures with ease. A multicultural education helps students develop the skills necessary to identify and discuss racism, and can inspire them to become an ally in the fight against injustice. Studies indicate that a multicultural mindset also makes people more open-minded and flexible, and enhances their creativity and problem-solving skills. The ability to work with and understand different cultures is becoming more necessary for employment as the workforce grows more diverse and the marketplace more global. RMK’s goal is to provide all of our kids with the skills necessary to become successful global citizens. If you’re interested in learning more, please attending one our meetings or check us out at www.raisingmulticulturalkids.com or Facebook@RMKeaston.
No Snacks at Ace of Clubs
If your child attends one of our after school clubs through the Ace of Clubs Program, please do not send a snack for your child to eat during that time. This is a volunteer run program and I don't want to add food allergy concerns to the hour and we do not have a nurse present to assist if there was an issue. Ace of Clubs is over by 4:00 so our students can go home then and eat. Thank you.
Veteran's Day Assembly
On Thursday, November 7, we will have a Veteran's Day Assembly to honor our Veterans from 8:50 - 9:20am in the gym. For the past two weeks, fifth grade students have led a coin drive to help raise money for a local Iraq War Veteran to obtain his goal of a service dog. It is so awesome to see this level of kindness and initiative coming from our students. If you can remember to send in some spare change with your child, it would be appreciated. Let's support our local vets for their service and sacrifice.
