Campus Vision
At Kyle Elementary, we believe building relationships in a safe environment encourages student engagement, impacts campus morale, and inspires student achievement.
From Mrs. Lucita
Dear KES Families,
Monday, January 18th is a student and staff holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will see all our Panthers on Tuesday, January 19th. This week we will have our campus spelling bee on Wednesday, January 20th. This event will be broadcast through the Kyle Elementary School Facebook Live. Congratulations to all our classroom winners. We cannot wait to see you all shine on Wednesday!
Last week we had a rare sight of real snow! We will make up the snow day minutes on Monday, February 15th (Original a student holiday). All students will be asynchronous that day. This means that Friday, February 12th and Monday, February 15th will both be virtual learning for all students. If you need your student to be on campus on either or both days, don't forget to complete the Family Intention Form that will open on February 1st. The form will close at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 5th.
3rd Nine Weeks (2/1/21-4/1/21) Commitment Form - Due January 22, 2021
Parents/Guardians will need to go into the Parent Portal and make a learning preference for your child for the 3rd Nine Weeks (2/1/21 - 4/1/21). The deadline to make this choice is January 22, 2021. We use the commitment form to make decisions on staff and student placements. Please know that student classes might change as students shift from one learning environment to another.
Please continue to be watchful of you and your children for COVID symptoms. As we saw during the weeks after Thanksgiving, there was an increase of COVID positive cases. We will continue with hand washing, sanitizing, and the wearing of face masks to help limit the spread of COVID. If you have any symptoms, please stay home and get tested. Remember to email Nurse Kristal Mathews at kristal.mathews@hayscisd.net if any one in the household or your child have symptoms or are tested.
In Partnership,
Karen Lucita, Principal

Notes from Nurse Mathews
Kyle Elementary School Parents,
First of all I want to say Happy New Year and here's to a much better 2021! Thank you all for the kindness and patience you've shown to us as we continue to navigate uncharted waters. We would like to share some information regarding our district policies/protocols regarding COVID testing and our efforts to keep all of our families as safe as possible.
If ANYONE in your household gets a test for COVID, please do the following:
● Keep all students home until you get results
● Notify the nurse at your students campus ASAP
● This applies to all your students on any/all campuses I will then track this and follow up with you to ensure when it is safe for your student to be back on campus.
Please note to return to campus you must speak with the school nurse. *PLEASE keep your student home if they, OR anyone in the household is having COVID-like symptoms such as: Change in baseline of how you feel “normally”
