They were called the New York 21, the police said the group had planned to blow up several places in New York. While out on bail, Afeni became pregnant.

Tupac showed creative talent early. He began writing plays when he was just 6 years old. Tupac wrote poetry & love songs. He also kept a diary. " in that book i said i was going to be famous" he says. He loved to read, a habit that he picked up from his mother.

Afeni and the other children moved often between the Bronx and Harlem, another part of New York City. At the worst times, they were homeless. All the moving around hurt Tupac deeply. Other kids bullied him.
