Pig Arrival Information
September 2018
Congratulations!!!
Please read this email in its entirety and act accordingly!
I will have all pigs by Monday, October 9th, but i am going a couple different places so I might have a few pigs earlier. If your pig comes early, you will most likely have a temporary pen set-up in the old barn!
REMEMBER- Do not set-up pen until I tell you to do so!!!
Future Communication
Also, I need everyone to join the Remind for the 2018-19 Show Season. This information and remind is important for students and parents. To join the Remind, text @pwshpigs to 81010
I know some of the students have my phone number from previous years. Please do NOT call or text me using that number. I will not answer non-emergency questions. All contact will be through Remind or email and not text message.
Only call or text me in an emergency situation!
Pen Assignments and Set-up
Pen Assignment
Please be patient as this hold is coming from the construction company; I will get this information to you as soon as I can!
Pen Set-up
- You are going to completely close in your pen with plywood (Home Depot will cut your boards to length)
- Use wire to attach boards to the panels
- For the sides: completely cover the side without the waterers and cover the back half of the sides with the waterers
- for the gate: make sure it can open both in and out
- Work with the people on either side of you. You do not need wood on both sides of the panel
- Do not screw into the panels or damage the panels in anyway
- Do not cover the entire pen or block air flow
- DO NOT attach a heat lamp. NO HEAT LAMPS IN THE BARN THIS YEAR
You will open your shavings once I tell you when your pig will arrive.
