Back to School Resources
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
A Note to Families
I am by no means wishing away summer. In fact, I cherish these beautiful August days full of sunshine and yes, the heat and humidity. I know for some families they are now beginning some vacation time together. So enjoy, be present, and safe travels!
For others, with the flip of the calendar page to August come the thoughts of “back to school”. These three words evoke a multitude of feelings - great anticipation, excitement, and a yearning to re-connect. Mixed in with these emotions may be some worry or anxiety. These feelings are typical and expected.
Mrs. Julie Martin, our school counselor, has gathered resources, activities, and a host of good books that address parents/guardians and children’s needs as they start a new school year. Please take a look in the next section of this smore.
Our school office will open the week of August 20 as our secretaries, Mrs. Quinlan and Mrs. Clark- Conway return to work.
In the next few weeks,I will email families updates about new staff, kindergarten open house on August 30, and our opening days. Please make sure you have signed up for my principal’s email at http://lists.walpole.k12.ma.us/mailman/listinfo/fishernews and can access the parent portal of X2 Aspen for class assignments at 9:00 am on August 10. To access the Aspen login page, go to http://ma-walpole.myfollett.com or follow the link for X2 Aspen from the link under school or district homepage "For Parents" menu item.
With your partnership, I look forward to a wonderful school year full of growth and progress.
Best Regards,
Colleen Duggan
