Ideas for your classroom
2 quick ideas that reduce marking
Plan carefully - do you have time to mark?
Every lesson you plan, think 'What will I have to mark from this lesson?'. Only plan a lesson with teacher marking when you know you can mark it soon. Otherwise design a lesson with peer and self assessment that you don't need to do anything to.
Remember, lessons are not 'Outstanding' because students write lots. They're 'Outstanding' if students make progress.
Pair & Share Homework
Divide the class in half. Set a different homework to each half. Next lesson, pair them up and they teach each other their own homework. No marking for you but you can instantly see what they've learnt as they teach each other.
