Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day this month!
There's your sign!
How often have you gotten up in the morning and no matter how seemingly organized things appear, you’re still feeling completely rushed? For me, it’s still the running theme of my life.
My alarm goes off, or lately I’m waking before it does, and I start my daily routine. For some strange reason, thoughts of what to wear that day and what I might grab for lunch are always running through my head while I’m in the shower. As I continue my routine of brushing my teeth, doing my hair, and applying face products, I’m still focused on other thoughts. For example; the weather (even though it seems decent out), possible traffic (typical), and any other things on my plate for that day. Then a final look in the mirror and maybe a spritz of perfume and I’m on my way.
The usual distractions are very clear during my commute. My favorite is the never ending construction (380/ 423).
I get to work and I’m ready to start my day, but then I start dealing with an unsettling feeling. Did I lock the door? Yes. Did I unplug the curling and clothes irons? Yes and Yes. Well, what in the world could it be? Hmmmm…
OMG! It then hits me that I failed to apply deodorant!! REALY?? Oh good grief! Well, since this has (unfortunately) happened in the past, I now always keep extra in my bag. I’m all about the backup plan for situations such as this. And also, not taking (silly) things so seriously. Smile and keep on going with my day.
What things have side railed you to the point that you have added your own little backup plan?
The enemy is always trying to tempt us. To frustrate us. To ruin our moment/ day. But when we literally laugh off such minor things and keep on keeping on – We will always win against it!
Job 23:10 New English Translation
But he knows the pathway that I take;
if he tested me, I would come forth like gold.
Love you ladies-

Mommy Moment With Jessica Wilson
My husband, JJ, travels for work and is away from home often. That leaves me as a single mom to our children while he is working. We don’t have any family in the area as I am from West Palm Beach, FL and JJ is from Long Beach, CA, and we met while serving in the Air Force. Yes, God brought an East Coast girl and a West Coast boy to the middle of America to meet in Enid, OK. I say this to relay to you how important community truly is to our family. The devil wants to keep you in isolation to keep you from your divine destiny and blessings, but Jesus will lift you up and allow your relationships to bless you.
Elevate Life Church is such an amazing church family for us and we are so blessed to call you family. Elevated Moms has been an extension of this family and really allows me to closer foster Godly relationships with other women of God. For this, I am so grateful. My hope for my future is to grow as a woman of God while attending ELC, get more involved and serve, as well as grow in my leadership. Thank you to our Pastors, Keith and Sheila, for truly imparting core values of excellence and leadership into our family and encouraging us to grow. Thank you to our fearless leaders of our Elevated moms group. You are serving from the heart and the impact you make on our families is truly great!
Love you all.
Blessings,
Jessica Wilson

Mom's Prayer Corner
Dear Lord,
It's such a hectic day, with little time to stop and pray. For life's been anything but calm, since You called me to be a Mom. Running errands, matching socks, building dreams with stacking blocks. Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes, and other things that children lose. Fitting lids on bottled bugs, wiping tears, and giving hugs. A stack of last weeks mail to read, where's the quiet time I need? Yet, when I steal a moment Lord, at the sink or ironing board, to ask the blessing of Your grace, I see then, in my little one's face, that You have blessed me all the while. And I stoop to kiss that precious smile.
