Respect and Responsibility
Mrs. Curtright & Mrs. Foster
New Behavior Plan and Incentives!
All students in our classes started today with $5 (play money). During the day they have had the opportunity to earn money for showing respect and for being responsible. On the other hand, they may be fined for disrespect or not being responsible. With their money, they have the opportunity to buy things like "line leader" or "use a pen during class time" or "wear a hat in class". We are hopeful these incentives will help encourage these important life habits.
With RESPECT, students are reminded of the following:
* watch your tone and attitude -- "it's not what you say, but how you say it"
* respond to adults appropriately -- "yes ma'am, no ma'am", no eye rolling, no huffing and puffing
* good sportsmanship -- no tantrums, taunts, or "you cheated"
* treat others the way you want to be treated -- "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"
With RESPONSIBILITY, students are reminded of the following:
* keep up with your belongings -- take everything you need when you switch, bring your folder and zipper pouch daily, keep up with your pencils
* follow directions and put papers in appropriate places
* complete all assignments in a timely manner
* stay on task at all times -- no reading under the desk, drawing, passing notes, etc
