Principal's Note...
Dear MMES Families,
What a busy week at MMES! We enjoyed a wonderful PTO enrichment program on Wednesday where an actress portrayed Eleanor Roosevelt. The children really loved learning about her life and accomplishments as first lady. It was amazing how realistic the actress was! It is programs like these that really bring the content that we teach at MMES to life!
Then, on Thursday we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday at the school! It was so fun to see all of the staff and students get into the spirit and dress up in their best Seuss gear! There were various Seuss-themed classroom activities throughout the week and we had a school-wide "Drop Everything and Read" time at 2:00 PM.
We then were treated to an amazing grade 5 play musical, "Joust." This is an annual tradition at MMES where the grade 5 students put on a play as a fundraiser for their trip to Camp Merrowvista. The performance was outstanding...it was so great to see all of the talents that our students have on stage! Special thanks to Mrs. Wood, Ms. Natti, along with all of the staff and parents who worked to make this show a great one. Thank you to all of the program sponsors and to Pomodori Ipswich who donated the pizzas for the concession stand for the weekend! If you didn't see the show yesterday, you will want to get tickets for tonight or tomorrow night's show!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John

Building Update...
As you may know, we have been in an ongoing battle with to keep our current boiler working in hopes that we would make it through to a potential new building. Over the past year, we’ve gone through a series of repairs (section replacements to stop leaks) and preventative measures to lengthen the life of the unit. Unfortunately, just before vacation things took a turn for the worse. We had to install a temporary external unit, and we will be going forward with the installation of a new boiler as soon as it can be scheduled which will help to prevent heat service at the building from being interrupted. As always our primary concern is the health and safety of our students and staff and ensuring that we don’t lose instructional time to facilities issues. Stay tuned!
