Atsushi Takagaki uses one of the hardest methods known to ceramists to make his pieces. He uses the method of celadon which was created centuries ago. The thing that makes this skill so difficult to master is the glaze. Atsushi Takagaki Has worked for over forty years to perfect this glaze and he still has a hard time creating the perfect form of glaze.
For each piece he makes about eighty batches so he doesn't ruin his piece. He glazes in multiple layers and has to take in account all of the mishap es that might happen when he glazes. If the kiln is off just slightly the whole piece will be ruined. Celadon is considered to be one of the greatest treasures of Chinesse civilization. Along with his glazes he crafts asymmetrical vessels for his work. His date of birth in unknown and he currently resides in Japan
