20-21 Classroom Placement Requests
Each year, the teachers and Administration work hard to place every child in a classroom in which they will find great success. Many factors are considered when making this placement, including academic success, student personality and any individual needs specific to a child.
If you have information that you feel is important in helping make this decision, please email your child's Assistant Principal by May 11.
Information that is helpful in placing your child includes:
· Personality characteristics of your child
· Personality of the teacher (structured, easy going, etc.)
· Special needs
· History of the child
· Family situations
Please know that we do not take teacher requests for class placement.
Please email one of the following with your information:
*Lorie Gregurek (lorie.gregurek@cfisd.net) Assistant Principal for KDG, 3rd, 4th Grades
*Kerry Iselt (kerry.iselt@cfisd.net) Assistant Principal for PK, 1st, 2nd, 5th Grades
Our AP's move with students from grade level to grade level.

May 4th- May 8th PE Activities
Hi Lions! I hope you have enjoyed some outside time during the past week; we have had some really nice weather!!
I have enjoyed seeing a few of you outside riding your bikes and spending time with your family!
This week, I have attached a Fitness Game called "Roll the Dice". If you have dice, you can roll for the fitness activity. If you do not have dice, you can write #s 1-6 on a small piece of paper and draw numbers for each round.
I have also attached a choice board from American Heart Association- 25 ways to move! I encourage you to try and move for 30 minutes each day. You can use the Fitness Log attached or create your own.
I miss you all, and I can not wait to see you again soon!!!
Stay Safe and Keep Moving,
Mrs. McCoy
Music Updates from Ms. Parker
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well! I miss everyone more and more each week. I miss your smiling faces and laughing with you. I have created a music Flipgrid so that you can stop by and say hi and tell me what you are up to. In the coming weeks, I will also be posting fun challenges for you! The link to the music Flipgrid is https://flipgrid.com/hamiltonmusicroom. You will need to log in with your CFISD google account.
I also have a musical scavenger hunt for you this week! Work with your family to see if you can find all of the items. Some of them could be things only your parents know about. Have them show you what they are or tell you a story about them if you can’t find any. Music Scavenger Hunt
Finally, here is your weekly episode of The House on Music Street! House on Music Street Episode 5
As always, please reach out to me at Heather.Parker@cfisd.net if you have any questions. I’d love to see what musical things you have been up to so either send me an email or post it on the Flipgrid above. Parents, please remember that all of these activities are optional. Have a great week Lions!

Art with Ms. K.
Hello artists!
I hope you are all staying healthy and busy! April is coming to a close, and it is almost MAY! Can you believe it!
Next week, the art challenges and activities will, once again, come from our school district! Some may look similar to past challenges of mine, but they all look like fun! I’m going to see what I can do with these myself!
Art teachers from all over CFISD have worked together to come up with these wonderful Artist’s Choice Boards! Think of them like a Menu at a Restaurant. You can pick whatever inspires you, and you can certainly choose more than one! (I’m personally a fan of the “Masterpiece Challenge”!!!)
*Note to parents: Just like my art challenges, the district would like to emphasize that these activities are suggestions and completely optional! They are simply ideas to help break up that quarantine boredom, bring some enrichment and creativity to your day, and get those creative juices flowing! Any grade level (and any family members!) are free to get involved!
If you participate in any of our art challenges, please share so we can see! Options are:
-Post a picture on Instagram and tag our studio account @hesartstudio to be featured!
-Email pictures to me to then be used (with your permission and credit to the artist) at kirsten.gould@cfisd.net
I hope these ideas help in some small way, and if you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to share something you’ve made, PLEASE don’t hesitate to reach out! I look forward to seeing what you create this week! Have a great week, Lions! Stay healthy and keep creating!

A message & video from Karen Lowery, The Storyteller...
Hi, Hamilton Friends! Hope all of you and all of yours are safe and healthy during these crazy times!
I've recorded a message and a little short story on video that you can share with your students, if you like! The video quality is not the best because I did it on Zoom, but hopefully it might be a little fun for my favorite friends.
I miss my Hamilton Storytelling Friends so much, and I'm looking forward to when we can all be together and share Once Upon A Time once again! Until then ...
A Message from our Garden Lady
Dear Parents,
My name is Stephanie Baker and I am the owner of Ready to Grow Gardens (RTGG), a garden-based outdoor education company created in 2003. RTGG provides Garden Day curriculum for over 20,000 students each year all over the Houston area and we are thrilled to
have worked with your student in the school gardens at Hamilton Elementary this year.
In addition to teaching science, we love introducing students to the joy of seed to plate organic gardening, sustainability, and an appreciation for nature and the outdoors!
As we navigate social distancing and virtual learning from home, RTGG is committed to supporting your student’s education through virtual Garden Day lessons.
The following private link is a lesson we’ve created for April that highlights Monarch butterflies:
Also, on our YouTube channel you’ll find fun gardening activities that we hope your child will enjoy with more videos uploaded each week. In addition, join us LIVE on Facebook (@readygrowgardens) every Saturday morning from 10 – 10:30am where we will share gardening tips and answer parent and student gardening questions!
Warm regards,
Stephanie Baker / Owner / Ready to Grow Gardens
We Love Our Lions
